Today we went to Hidden beach in the morning. While the boys went to the pool we played Scrabble with my grandma. She had a shirt from the Salty Dawg for her friend in Hawaii. His name is Kenny. We went with her to visit him. He had an adorable dog named Buddy. He gave us all amazing shells that his mother had found years ago. We went to get shave ice and my dad said that we had to swim across the river to get it. I refused to, so my mom drove me. All though my sister gave-in. The reason that I didn’t do it was because there were a lot of signs that said “DO NOT SWIM IN WATER” and “There are many diseases and infections in water”. Then we got rainbow shave ice. Finally, we went to a really fancy hotel and the band taught everyone the hula dance. It was really fun!!!!!!!! Here’s some trivia……… What time of year are whales seen in Maui?
How many living species of sea turtles are there in the world?
It depends on who you ask. There are at least six. Green, loggerhead, hawaksbill, leatherback, Olive ridley and Kemp's ridley. It seems to be generally accepted that flatback turtles (found only in Australian waters) are a separate species, which would make seven. There is some debate surrounding black turtles. Some people consider them to be a subspecies of the green turtle, others consider them to be a separate species.
